1938

Born in Ostend (Belgium).

1958

First expression (oil painting).

1959

Awarded in the Talens Prize Competition, Brussels. First group exhibition.

1960

Awarded in the Art of Painting Prize, West-Flanders.

1963

Awarded in the Jeune Peinture Belge Competition.

1964

First personal exhibition at the Casino of Blankenberge.

1965

Exhibits at "The Mansfield Fine Arts Guild", Mansfield, Ohio (U.S.A.).

1966

Awarded in the L. Schmidt Prize Competition, Brussels.
For the first time assembled sculptures are shown at the Korrekelder, Bruges.

1968

Sculptures totem figures and totem pole-like constructions in oak.

1969

Wins the first prize at the 9th Biennial for sculpture in Vorst (Brussels)
Receives a medal of the Brabant province.
Edition of an art paperback about his work (by A.Van Wiemeersch-Gent).

1970

Last oil paintings. Dedicates himself to sculpting.
Got granted a scholarship by the Ministry of Culture.
Travels through France, Switzerland and Germany.
Studies the art of Black Africa, Australia and the Pacific. That art will always fascinate him.

1972

Creates some statues in bronze and tin.
Solo exhibition at the Numaga Gallery, Auvernier (Switzerland).

1974

December: Makes study tour around Moscow (Russia).

1975

The themes of his sculptures - fertility, birth and growth of man, animal and plant - gradually acquire their significance.

1976

Completes the "Tree of Life", a 6.5m high monumental work of art in concrete and bronze, that is adorning the municipal cemetry at Ostend.

1978

One-man exhibition at Galerie La Cité, Luxemburg.

1979

Got granted a scholarship by the Ministry of Flemish Culture to travel to New York (USA).

1981

Art paperback, written by Frank Edebau and Marcel van Jole, published by Arte and Biblio Press (Geneva, Paris, Antwerp).

1985

Production of a film "Stereo-gnosis" under the auspices of the Flemish Community (director: Jean Mil, music: François Glorieux).
Exibits in Gordes (France) at the Municipal Museum, Aumônerie Saint-Jacques.

1990

Shows at the Venetian Loggia in Heraklion (Crete).

1991

Exhibition in the "Brakke Grond", the Flemish Cultural Centre in Amsterdam (the Netherlands).

1992

Shows at the Langenberg Gallery, Amsterdam.
Summer exhibition in Gordes (France) at the "Chapelle des Pénitents Blancs".
Paints large size gouaches.
Monograph n° 14, written by Jaak Fontier and published by the Willemsfonds, Gent.

1993

Exhibits at the ARTS Centre, ART Museum in Seoul (South-Korea).

Third one-man exhibition in Gordes at the "Chapelle des Pénitents Blancs".

1997

Designs gold jewels (unique pieces): pendants, pins, brooches, rings, bracelets and earrings.
Stays and works in paris at the Cit é Internationales des Arts.

1998

"Hope", a 2.5m high bronze sculpture is erected in the Leopold Park in Ostend.
Art project in a studio in Montmartre (Paris).

1999

Creates a bronze sculpture "1 three 1" in cooperation with Hubert Minnebo and Willy Bosschem, in aid of Lions Club Ostend.

2000

Participates in Euroworld, Euro-point, Frankfurt (Germany), Cat.
Designs wine label for LIRAC and Châteauneuf-du-Pape.

2001

Spends 4 months in a studio of the Cité International des Arts in Paris.
Paints 13 murals,spread over 5 floors, in the Rehablilitation centre I.M.B.O. in Ostend.
Creates an oak box for the exhibition Box 51, organized by the Fifty One Club of Ostend.

2002

Exhibits at Van Campen & Rochus Gallery, Antwer Participates in the 1st Bienial for sculpture in the Musée Renoir in Cagnes-sur-Mer (France), Cat.
Designs woollen and silk tapestries.
Paints mural (350 x 110 cm) in Pier A, the new departure hall of Brussels International Airport, Cat.

2003

"Gevleugelde", a 3.20 m high oak sculpture, is erected in Brussels International Airport, Zaventem
